It’s been my dream to go back to the area that I born, and would not have been possible without the indispensable service from Eric and his tour company. We didn’t know where to start. Eric arranged a driver for us from Vientiane to Vang Vieng, Mr Xiong and his wife, with plans on going to another town during mid morning the next day. However, our circumstances changed (learning that in order to get to our destination, we’d had to leave first thing in the morning and not mid-morning) caused us to change our schedule. Eric’s team graciously made last minute arrangements to confirm to our schedule – they had one of their other drivers pick us up and dropped us off with the original driver an hour south (the original drivers, Mr & Mrs Xiong, were coming from three hours away) so that we did not lose time getting us to our destination. Mr. & Mrs. Xiong spent the entire day with us, ensuring that we were able to reach our destination and that we were in good hands. Instead of dropping us off at the boat ride to a remote island on the massive Nam Ngum, they went out of their way to join us for the 5 hour journey to provide additional security and translated communication with the local vendors. We felt safe, comfortable and beyond grateful for their kind service and dedication to the satisfaction of their customers. They are also very knowledgeable of the country – landmarks, roads, nuances – and can provide great insight throughout all of Laos if you are able to communicate in their language. I had one photo of a place I wanted to go, knowing very little about it and only that I wanted to go there. I sent the photo to Eric and he was able to ID it without trouble and led us to exactly where we wanted to go. Most of the drivers speak English, but even if there is a communication issue, know that you are in good hands with Eric and his team.
