The Plain of Jars is a unique and mysterious archaeological site located in the Xieng Khouang province of Laos. It is home to thousands of stone jars scattered across the landscape, with some of them reaching up to 3m height.
A half-day tour of the Plain of Jars typically includes a visit to the main archaeological sites, such as Site 1, Site 2 and Site 3, where the most well-preserved and significant jars are located. Visitors will have the opportunity to walk among the jars, take photographs, and learn about the local legends and historical theories surrounding the site.
Additionally, the tour may also include a visit to the nearby village of Ban Xiengdi, where visitors can interact with the local community and learn about their traditional way of life. Some tours may also include a visit to the MAG (Mines Advisory Group) information center to learn about the ongoing efforts to clear unexploded ordnance in the area.
